Reasons To Start Your Home Business
The internet is one of the greatest game changers in human history. It has changed and will continue to change the way people communicate, share, work, and live. It has also created a whole new type of worker: the online worker. There is even a term for people starting online business netreprenuer. Simply amazing!
Some make money through their websites (blogs), others engage in affiliate marketing, some focus on providing services over the web. Additionally it has greatly enlarged the word of freelance writing.
1. You can work anywhere
When you say “work from home,” you mean a home based business, but, in truth, you can work from just about anywhere. All you need is an internet connection. And the fact is you can get one a connection nearly anywhere these days. You can work from cafes, parks, and even from the beach if you have a wireless modem.
You can travel across the globe and still work you home business just as if you were in your home office. For some people this might even be a greater incentive to work from home!
Regardless of the business model you choose, there are many reasons that make working online exciting. I am going to cover some of them.
2. No More Time Wasted On Commuting
Even if you live relatively close to your work, you still waste a good amount of time commuting back and forth every day. For example, if your workplace is 45 minutes away from your home (either by car or by public transportation), you will waste 90 minutes per day, which translates into 360 hours every year. That is the equivalent of nine 40 hour work weeks.
What if instead of wasting those 360 hours commuting you used those hours you saved from commuting to build a solid home business?
3. You Are Able To Work On Your Own Terms
Are you a morning person? Get up early and do your work. You will have the rest of the day to pursue other pursuits. Perhaps you are more productive at night? Then do your work at night. Do you want to take Wednesdays off to play golf. The plan you work schedule around it!
Working on your own terms also means that you can structure your working environment as you please. That is, you can wear some comfortable clothes instead of the annoying suit, listen to music while you work if that makes you more productive and so on.
Right now, for the summer, I am in shorts and t-shirt mode.
This series will continue in a few days.
