A Simple Home Business Plan Part 3

What I am doing with my home business plan is answering three questions:

  • Where exactly is the business?
  • Where exactly do I want the business to be at the end of 2013?
  • How can I get there?

This is about as simplistic as you can get! But it tells me:

  • Where I am with the business.
  • Where do I want it to be in 1 year.
  • How do I get from where I am to where I want to be?

Today we will look at part three. This is the nuts and bolts of the business plan.

These are my three key areas:

  • Freelance Writing & Blogging.
  • Selling Ebooks Through Amazon & Smashwords.
  • Affiliate Sales On Blogs.

From here, I am going to start breaking things down into detail. For example, Freelance Writing & Blogging looks more like this:

Freelance Writing & Blogging

  • Freelance Writing
  • Freelance Blogging

From there, I will make further distinctions. Under Freelance Blogging there will be a section for guest blogging on sites that use staff bloggers. Well written guest posts can easily lead to paid positions. That, in turn will open other doors for paid posting gigs.

This third part of the plan is the strategy portion of your home business plan. It is essential to invest the requires time and effort that will yield a scaleable strategy for your business. What I mean by this is that you will be able to break this into one month increments that will allow you to know what needs to be done as you work towards the realization of your business goals.

Take your time with this section. Think it through on paper. You will have to envision a plan that takes your home business from where it is now (that was step one) to where you want to be in one year (step two) or whatever time period you have chosen.

I am working a three month plan. The reason being is that I have never done planning this way and there is much to learn. Indeed, there is much to learn!
